Associations Around the State Honor Outstanding Work

Brock Maintenance wins the ABC Greater Houston Chapter's Best of Houston award, White Construction receives two Eagle awards for excellence in construction and two safety awards from the ABC Central Texas Chapter and Joeris General Contractors takes top honors from ABC and AGC San Antonio chapters.

The ABC Greater Houston Chapter recently held its 6th Annual Excellence In Construction Awards Gala. Featured projects excelled in safety, quality, ingenuity and workmanship. Brock Maintenance won the Best of Houston award for the Valero Ardmore Maintenance Reliability Project. ABC Central Texas Eagle Awards

The Central Texas Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors presented its Excellence in Construction Awards in Austin in mid-October.

Eagle Award recipients included Harvey-Cleary Builders, White Construction Co., Rogers-O'Brien Construction Co., Journeyman Construction, Brath Inc., American Constructors LP, Flintco Inc., Titus Electrical Contracting Inc., F.L. Crane & Sons Inc., Baker Drywall Austin Ltd., TDIndustries Ltd.

Awards of excellence and merit were also given in the safety category.


ABC South Texas Awards

The Associated Builders & Contractors - South Texas Chapter presented its annual Excellence In Construction awards recently in San Antonio.

Awards in 18 categories were presented to 14 construction companies, with a tie in one category. The awards went to Joeris General Contractors Ltd. for the Vineyard Retail Center, Phase VII; Middleman Construction Co. LLC for the Rooms To Go Showroom; Galaxy Builders Ltd. for the Providence Estates Townhomes: Lyda Swinerton Builders Inc. for the La Quinta Inn & Suites Convention Center Hotel; The Keller Martin Organization Inc. for the new corporate headquarters for Methodist Healthcare Ministries; Browning Construction Co. Ltd. for the Jefferson High School Renovations; Metropolitan Contracting Co. Ltd. for the Aveda Institute at Pearl Brewery; Browning Construction Co. Ltd. for the Jefferson High School Music Facility; SpawGlass Contractors Inc. for the Starr County Campus, South Texas College; Bartlett-Cocke General Contractors for the Steep Slope Elementary Schools--Wilderness Oak Elementary / Canyon Ridge Elementary; TIC - The Industrial Company, for the Silas Ray Unit 10 Power Project; Joeris General Contractors Ltd. for the Edison High School Renovations; A/C Technical Services Ltd. for the La Quinta Inn Suites and for the H-E-B Meat Plant; Baker Drywall Ltd. for the Church of Latter Day Saints - San Antonio Temple; Troy M. Jesse Construction LP for the 131 Cardinal Avenue residence; Joeris General Contractors Ltd. for the Medina Valley ISD - Potranco Elementary School; Alpha Insulation & Waterproofing Inc. for the UTSA Biotechnology, Sciences, and Engineering Building; and SpawGlass for the World Birding Center, Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park.


San Antonio AGC Industry Winners

The San Antonio Chapter of the AGC recently announced the winners of its 2005 Construction Industry Awards. The recipients were: General Contractor of the Year: Joeris General Contractors Ltd.; Specialty Contractor of the Year: F. A. McComas Inc.; Service Provider of the Year: Able Body Labor; Supplier of the Year: Midco Sling of San Antonio; Architect of the Year: Marmon Mok LLP; Engineer of the Year: Alpha Consulting Engineers Inc.

The awards were given at a ceremony in early November.
