Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas Breaks Ground on Six-Story Tower

Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas recently broke ground on a new six-story patient-bed tower named the Hamon Tower. HKS designed the 38-year-old campus’ largest expansion to date. The Hamon Tower, which will open in January 2009, is part of a $150 million acute-care expansion project on the hospital’s campus. The all-private room tower will have 72 ICU beds and 108 acute care beds, as well as diagnostic and support spaces.

After the new tower is constructed, renovations will take place at the existing acute -care hospital. Support services and diagnostic and treatment services are planned for renovations and expansions to accommodate future medical and information technology and health-care trends.

The tower was named to honor Dallas philanthropist Nancy B. Hamon, who donated a  $10 million gift to the Presbyterian Healthcare System’s Legacy of Care Campaign.
