Fluor Corporation Now Headquartered in Texas

Fluor Corp., formerly based in Aliso Viejo, California, has announced its official relocation to new global headquarters in Irving.

Fluor Relocation Official This Month

Fluor Corporation's new headquarters, developed by Koll Development Co. and located in Irving, was recently completed. The 136,000-sq.-ft. corporate campus features a three-story, dual-wing office building and amenities including an auditorium, cafeteria, fitness center and covered parking garage.

Fluor Corp., one of the world's top engineering procurement, construction and maintenance service firms, recently announced that the relocation of its global headquarters from Aliso Viejo, Calif., to a new corporate campus in Irving, took effect at the end of April. An official dedication of the new facility is planned for early summer.

Fluor's Global Services business will remain in its current North Dallas location, where many relocating employees have been temporarily housed. Additionally, Fluor will maintain approximately 1,200 employees at its engineering and other sites throughout Southern California. Worldwide, Fluor has some 37,000 employees in more than 25 countries on six continents.

Fluor announced last year that it had selected St. Louis, Mo.-based Clayco to design-build its new headquarters in Irving. Koll Development Co. of Dallas is the developer for the project.

Fluor's new home on a 26-acre site in the Las Colinas Business Park in Irving, is constructed of tilt-up concrete panels clad in natural Texas limestone. The building's interior will feature high-end finishes such as custom millwork. Amenities include a commercial kitchen and dining area, employee fitness center, a 100-seat auditorium and meeting rooms.

Forum Studio Inc. of St. Louis, Mo. designed the core and shell of the 132,000-sq.-ft. headquarters, creating a campus feel through the use of interconnecting buildings. Divided into two wings by a three-story glass-enclosed atrium, the office building is connected to a one-story amenities building. A "history walk" depicting the Fluor story starts in the office building, runs through the amenities building and ends at a two-story, covered parking facility.

Fluor's headquarters is designed to achieve certification in the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System. South and west-facing windows have solar devices, all windows are high-performance glass, and the glass wall on the amenities building provides abundant natural light. The team worked to preserve as much natural vegetation and trees as possible during the construction process.

Joining Clayco and Forum on the project are Houston-based architect Gensler as interior designer; and local firms Glenn Engineering, civil engineer; L.A. Fuess Partners Inc., structural engineer; and DFW Consulting Group, electrical and mechanical engineer.

The address of the new corporate headquarters, which will house approximately 200 executives and employees, is 6700 Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, Texas, 75039. The main telephone number is 469-398-7000. The main fax is 469-398-7255.
