Peter J. Davoren was recently named president of Dallas-based
Turner Construction Co., succeeding Robert E. Fee, who will
retire in December.
In his new role, Davoren will have responsibility for Turner's core construction
operations in all of the firm's business units, which include 45 geographic
offices and several market segment groups. He will also oversee national
sales from his office in New York.
A 24-year construction industry veteran, he has spent his entire career
at Turner. He received his bachelor's degree in the School of Architecture
from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Fee, who has been with Turner for 39 years, will retain the title of chief
executive officer of Turner Construction and president and CEO of The
Turner Corp. until his retirement.
Dallas-based glass and glazing subcontractor Haley-Greer Inc.
recently announced several personnel changes.
Haley-Greer founder Don Haley changed his title from president
to chief executive officer and announced the promotions of Letitia
Haley Barker to company president, Mark Hogan to executive
vice president and Norbert Klotz to vice president of Houston operations.
Haley founded Haley-Greer in 1979 and attended Paris Junior College. Barker
was involved in the initial start-up of the company, then rejoined it
in 1995 as vice president of administration. She has a criminal justice
degree from Stephen F. Austin University.
Hogan has been with the company since 1985 and earned an associate degree
in engineering and design from Jefferson Junior College in St. Louis.
Klotz is a 30-year veteran of the construction industry, including the
last eight with Haley-Greer. He attended St. Thomas University in Houston
and the University of Houston.
Tim Probert and Lew Watts were recently named to the senior
executive leadership team of the Energy Services Group for Houston-based
Halliburton.
Probert, formerly president and chief executive officer of Input Output
Inc., will join the company as the senior executive of a newly created
division called Drilling and Formation Evaluation. He is a geology and
geography graduate of the University of London.
Watts, former director of Shell's International Gas and Power Business,
is now the senior executive of the Solutions Group, which encompasses
integrated solutions/integrated technology Products. He has a Ph.D. in
geology from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
Frank Acker was recently appointed project superintendent for
the Texas division of McCarthy Building Cos. Inc. Acker will be
responsible for overseeing McCarthy's field operations at its Baylor University
jobsite in Waco.
Prior to joining McCarthy, Acker was a superintendent with Bartlett Cocke
General Contractors in Austin.
Acker graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, with
a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He also attended Canyon
College in Caldwell, Idaho, obtaining a bachelor's degree in business
management and a master's degree in international business management.
Jim Moody recently joined Austin- and San Antonio-based Intertech
Flooring as product consultant to represent the company in the architectural
and design communities.
Moody has 19 years of experience in the wallcovering industry and is an
industry member of the International Interior Design Association.
He also is a member of the Texas Association of Interior Design and participates
as an associate member of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America,
serving as treasurer of the Austin chapter.
Jon Robinson was recently promoted to the position of associate
at the San Antonio-based architectural design firm of Rehler Vaughn &
Koone Inc.
Robinson earned a bachelor's degree from Trinity University and has received
graduate level training in landscape architecture at Texas Tech University
and the University of Arizona.
He has been with RVK since 2001.
Charles DiBona recently joined the board of advisors for Dallas-based
construction management firm Time Industrial Inc.
DiBona is currently chairman of the board of Logistics Management Institute,
a non-profit organization working to improve the United States' defense
management. DiBona is past president of the American Petroleum Institute,
former special consultant to the President of the United States and is
a retired U.S. Navy officer.
He currently is a member of the board of directors for Houston-based
Halliburton.
David Fitch was recently promoted to vice president of Dallas-based
ROMCO Equipment Co. He is currently the company's Gulf Coast Regional
Manager.
A member of the ROMCO team since 1995, Fitch will continue to oversee
operations of the company's Houston branch office while assisting with
overall company sales and manufacturer relations.
He is a board member of the Houston Contractors Association and currently
sits on the Volvo Dealer Product Council, which advises the heavy equipment
manufacturer on product innovation.
Douglas C. Frank, CSI, CCS, senior
vice president of Houston-based FKP Architects
Inc., will be invested as a Fellow in the Construction
Specifications Institute at the organization's national convention
next month.
The fellowship recognizes individuals who have made significant
contributions to the advancement of the construction industry.
Frank will become one of approximately 200 Fellows among 18,000
institute members.
Frank is past president of the Houston chapter of the CSI and
currently serves as president of the institute's Houston foundation
and as chair of the Technical Committee for the South Central
Region.
William Morrow was recently appointed
vice president of business development for Lewis
and Lambert LLLP of Fort Worth.
Morrow brings 23 years of mechanical construction experience
to Lewis and Lambert, a leading sheet metal contractor for the
past 37 years.
Christopher G. DeClaire was recently appointed president and
chief executive officer of Houston-based Imperial Petroleum Recovery
Corp.
He assumes the role of CEO from Henry Kartchner, who will remain chairman
of the board for IPRC, and takes over as president for C. Brent Kartchner,
who will continue at IPRC leading the company's research and development
effort.
DeClaire was most recently managing director of Odyssey Capital LLC, a
Houston-based company he formed in 1999. He is a graduate of Michigan
State University with a bachelor's degree in pre-law and a minor in accounting.
