Names In The News - June 2003

Paul Maute, AIA, was recently elected a vice president at Fort Worth-based Carter & Burgess Inc. An associate principal, he joined the firm six years ago.

Maute is manager of the Dallas Facilities Unit and has more 26 years of design management experience. He recently served as project manager for the MESA Complex, a $150 million advanced laboratory facility for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.

A graduate of the University of Kansas with degrees in environmental design and architecture, Maute holds memberships in the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects.


Mark Pruitt was recently named vice president of Sugar Land-based E.E. Reed Construction LP.

Pruitt has more than 13 years of experience in the Houston construction market and has participated in such projects as healthcare, institutional and retail.

He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.


Nate Colish, Ray Kaszniak and Tod Huffman were recently named regional sales managers for compaction equipment marketer Ammann America, which recently relocated its national headquarters from Jacksonville, Fla., to the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch.

Colish will cover the northeastern U.S. from his home base in Philadelphia. He has 30 years of sales experience in the heavy equipment industry.

Kaszniak is the Midwestern states sales manager and is based in Chicago. He has 20 years of manufacturing knowledge in the light compaction industry.

And Huffman remains regional sales manager for the southeastern part of the country, having developed this area for Ammann over the past several years. He is based in Jacksonville, Fla.

Ammann America is part of The Ammann Group headquartered in Langenthal, Switzerland.


Marshall Lightman was recently promoted to vice president and Southwest regional controller for Houston-based Gilbane Building Co.

Lightman has been with Gilbane for 36 years, beginning his career as a timekeeper. He has been Southwest regional controller for the company since 1987.

He is a business administration graduate of Roger Williams University in Providence, R.I., and a member of the Construction Financial Management Association.


Ed Williams was recently named branch manager for the Arlington office of Sandvick Equipment & Supply Co.

Williams was formerly loss prevention manager and safety director for S.J. Louis Construction of St. Cloud, Minn.

Sandvick Equipment & Supply's Arlington office is the newest of five company locations, joining those in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas and Fontana, Calif.


Steven W. Lewis recently joined Lewisville-based PCL Contract Bonding Agency.

Lewis began his surety career in Arizona in 1989 and has worked in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the last decade as a contract bond underwriter for regional and national surety companies.


Eric Martinez, J. Rolando Perez and Albert Gonzales Jr. have recently joined San Antonio-based Rehler Vaughn & Koone Inc. to assist in the company's expanding architecture department.

Martinez previously served as a designer for commercial and religious facilities as well as residential projects. He is a member of the San Antonio chapter of the American Institute of Architects and serves on that organization's Homes Tour Committee. He attended the University of Oklahoma and earned a degree in fine arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Perez has experience is all phases of architectural design and planning of educational, medical, retail and sports facilities. He has a degree in architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Gonzales received a degree in architectural design specialization from Texas Tech University. He holds certification with the National Council of Architectural Registration Board and has recent experience in the design and production of educational facilities.


Sriram Sivaram recently joined the management team at Austin-based Active Power Inc. as vice president of Business Development.

His new duties will include creation of an extended runtime product line and the formation of strategic relationships in connection with this new line. He will also assist in expanding distribution channels for current products outside of North America.

Sivaram joins Active Power following roles as a senior executive at Catalyst Power, a subsidiary of international power and automation technology company The ABB Group, and American Power Conversion Co. He holds an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India, as well as master's of science and MBA degrees from Cornell University.
