Michael Emmons was recently
promoted to senior vice president and regional manager at
Houston-based SpawGlass Construction
Corp. He is now responsible for overseeing the operations
of the Houston office.
Emmons has been with SpawGlass for 19 years and is a building
construction graduate of Texas A&M University.
Recent company projects under his leadership include Continental
Airlines' Terminal E at George Bush Intercontinental Airport,
the M.D. Anderson Design/Build Parking Garage and The Club
at Carlton Woods Main Clubhouse.
Mark A. Mendel, PE, project
engineer for the facilities engineering team at San Antonio-based
Raba-Kistner Consultants Inc.,
recently received his professional engineering license from
the Texas State Board of Registration.
He specializes in facility investigations, property condition
assessments, and has extensive experience in geotechnical
engineering and construction materials testing services.
Mendel earned a civil engineering degree from Texas A&M
University and is a member of the American Society of Civil
Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Kenneth E. Zimmerman, PE, was
recently honored by the Houston office of Walter
P. Moore & Associates Inc. with a 90th birthday
celebration.
Zimmerman is a 1934 architectural engineering graduate of
Texas A&M University.
Until his retirement in 1982, he worked on almost every large
project in Houston, including the Astrodome, American General
Center, Rice Stadium, Jesse Jones Hall for the Performing
Arts, Warwick Hotel, Sea Arama, St Vincent De Paul Catholic
Church, UT Graduate School of Business and the C.E. "Pat"
Olsen Field and Stadium at Texas A&M.
Zimmerman's affiliations include American Concrete Institute,
National and Texas Societies of Professional Engineers, Houston
Engineering & Scientific Society, Consulting Engineers
Council and the American Institute of Steel Construction.
Gary Ellenberger was recently
named general manager of Holt Rental Services, a division
of San Antonio-based Holt Cat.
Ellenberger has been with Holt Rental Services in 2000 as
manager of the Pflugerville Cat Rental Store.
Holt Rental Services focuses on the short-term rental business
for small and mid-size Caterpillar machines and work tool
attachments, and a variety of complimentary allied equipment
to support customer needs. Holt Cat rents, sells and services
Caterpillar machines, engines and generator sets in a 118-county
Texas territory.
Mark B. Puckett was recently
named president of ChevronTexaco Energy
Technology Co., a newly created company of Houston-based
ChevronTexaco. He was previously president of the company's
Exploration and Production Technology Co.
The new company combines EPTC and ChevronTexaco Energy Research
and Technology Co., which supply upstream and downstream technologies
for the parent company's businesses, respectively.
Puckett has civil engineering degree from Texas A&M University
and has completed the Tuck Executive program at Dartmouth
College. He will be based in Bellaire.
James W. Gray Jr. of Spring
Branch will be one of 35 new members inducted into the American
Society of Landscape Architects' Council of Fellows
during the ASLA Annual Meeting, scheduled Oct. 30-Nov. 3 in
New Orleans.
The Council of Fellows is comprised of more than 600 landscape
architects recognized by their peers for outstanding accomplishments
in works of landscape architecture, administrative leadership,
knowledge, and service to the profession.
Fellows may also use the designation "FASLA" following
their name to signify membership.
Founded in 1899, ASLA is the national professional association
for landscape architects, representing more than 13,500 members.
