Most recently a sales representative for Holt Power Systems
division of Holt Cat® in the Rio Grande Valley, Kathy
M. Alkire has been named district sales manager for
Holt Cat in the Rio Grande Valley.
Based in Weslaco, Alkire will be responsible for providing
sales and the marketing direction for the Rio Grande Valley
heavy equipment sales force.
Alkire received a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational
Management from Illinois State University and is currently
president of the Mid-Valley Toastmaster's in Weslaco.
She has been with Holt Cat for 10 years with responsibilities
in marketing and sales.
Billy Ferrell, Sandy Garcia, Roy Kirkpatrick,
Ron Kopplin and Barry Scott
were recently promoted as part of a reorganization plan at
Martin Marietta Materials' San
Antonio office. These individuals have a combined total of
231 years of experience.
Billy Ferrell has been appointed as General Manager of Asphalt.
Sandy Garcia has been appointed as Area Manager of
Sand and Gravel. In addition, he will continue serving as
customer service manager.
Roy Kirkpatrick has been appointed as General Manager
of Concrete and will continue serving as General Manager of
Sales.
Ron Kopplin has been appointed as Black Spur Quarry
General Manager.
Barry Scott has been appointed as General Manager
of Stone.
Additional promotions at the San Antonio office include Huntley
Turner, appointed senior sales representative for the
Black Spur Quarry in Uvalde. Turner has held a variety of
positions in the San Antonio sales department; Johnny
Tanner appointed plant manager for Bedrock Quarry in
Center Point. Tanner has extensive operational experience
with the Company; and Steve Gallion,
appointed field service representative supervisor for the
San Antonio District. Gallion has previously served in a variety
of roles, most recently in a sales capacity for the Black
Spur Quarry.
The company also added Tony Gallegos
and Don Sjogren to the San Antonio
sales team. Gallegos has 19 years with Martin Marietta and
has held numerous positions in the concrete / ready-mix group.
Sjogren has extensive experience in the highway construction
business.
Winifred Celeste Davis recently
joined Raba-Kistner as marketing
/ communications coordinator in the business development department
of the San Antonio corporate office. Ms. Davis earned business
of administration degrees in Chemistry and English from Texas
A&M University.
Davis' responsibilities include public relations, proposal
preparation, analyzing of competitive landscape to produce
strategic marketing plans, research of client insights to
develop well-rounded marketing initiatives that are both economic
and broad in scope, and overall support to branch offices.
W. Pleas Mitchell, Jr. was
recently promoted to vice president of preconstruction services
at Centex Construction Company
in Dallas.
Mitchell, with eighteen years in the industry and fourteen
years with Centex, has experience in both preconstruction
and operations for commercial construction management services.
He is responsible for developing project estimates and subcontractor
bidding packages. In addition, as part of the company's senior
management team, Mitchell will participate in corporate strategic
planning initiatives.
Mitchell is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
Richard Gresham has joined
Sandvick Equipment & Supply Company,
Phoenix, Ariz., as branch manager for the company's new location
in Austin.
Previously, Gresham had been branch manager for a rental equipment
company in Austin.
He has been actively involved in trench safety since 1979.
In addition, Brad Renfro joined the Austin branch as dispatcher.
Previously, Renfro had served as assistant branch manager
for a rental equipment company in Austin.
