Carter & Burgess adds Public Works,
Landscape Specialists
New hires Ryan Bricker and Mark
Hill bring more than 25 years experience to Carter & Burgess's
urban design and planning and public works units.
Ryan E. Bricker
has joined Carter & Burgess as transportation studio leader
within the firm's Dallas-Ft. Worth Urban Design and Planning
Unit. As a landscape architect, Bricker brings more than seven
years of multi-disciplinary design experience on projects
throughout the country. As a specialist in transportation
enhancements, streetscapes and transit related design, Bricker
has both the expertise and the background necessary to lead
today's most challenging design projects.
Bricker will direct transportation related urban design projects.
His current projects include enhancement designs for the reconstruction
of Interstate Highway 635, LBJ Expressway in Dallas, the Interstate
40 Crosstown Expressway in Oklahoma City and State Highway
45 in Central Texas.
Bricker is a member of the American Society of Landscape
Architects and has received numerous design awards from that
organization in addition to awards from the American Institute
of Architects and the American Planning Association.
He sits on the professional advisory board for the Department
of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at Texas A&M
University where he earned a bachelor of landscape architecture
degree in 1997.
Mark D. Hill has joined Carter
& Burgess as a senior project manager with the Public
Works Unit in Dallas.
During his 18 years in civil engineering, Hill has planned,
designed and managed infrastructure projects in both the water
and wastewater industries for municipalities and water supply
corporations, and he has been involved in the design of paving
and drainage projects for municipalities.
Hill has assisted in the development of master plans; capital
improvement programs for water, wastewater, paving and drainage;
budgets; impact fees; and development standards. He has performed
design and project management services for a wide array of
projects and clients.
His experience within the water industry includes design
and project management of treatment, distribution, transmission,
pumping, master planning, CCN boundaries, water wells and
storage projects. For the wastewater industry, his projects
have included treatment, collection, interceptors, pumping,
CCN boundaries and master planning.
Hill holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from
Texas A&M University and is a registered professional
engineer in Texas.

Walter P. Moore recently announced
eight new principals of the firm. They are: Tarek
A. Ayoubi, Dilip Choudhuri, Michael E. Duval, Eric C. Green,
Gabriel A. Jiminez-Lopez, Andrew P. Sullivan, Dennis R. Tow
and Kurtis A. Young.

Tracy Brettmann, has been named
as 2004-2005 President of Deep Foundations Institute. Brettmann
is the Texas regional manager for Berkel and Company Contractors,
which is headquartered in Bonner Springs, Kan. He has been
involved with the design, installation and quality control
of deep foundations for the past 17 years. He has been a DFI
Trustee since 2000 and served as DFI's vice president for
the last two years.
Brettmann received his bachelor's of science in civil engineering
from the University of Nebraska and his master's of science
in geotechnical engineering from the University of Texas at
Austin. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas
and Louisiana.

Carmen Abad-Fitts of HDR, an
architectural, engineering and consulting firm, received a
National Women of Color Technology Award for her accomplishments
in advancing technology and science. Abad-Fitts is the assistant
department manager for HDR's San Antonio office.
Abad-Fitts is a recipient of the All Star award, a category
that honors accomplished women of color who have demonstrated
excellence as role models and leaders throughout their careers
and continue to shape the course of business and technology.
Moorhouse Construction recently
announced several new hires and promotions. Roy
G. DiPasquale, has joined Moorhouse as executive vice
president. He is responsible for strategy, business development
and operations. DiPasquale has more than 30 years of experience
with Fortune 100 companies and in the contracting industry.
Jeffrey A. Stocks has joined
Moorhouse as CFO and general counsel. He has more than 20
years experience as an attorney and in senior financial positions.
Bill Bayne, a 10-year veteran
of Moorhouse, has been promoted to vice president of operations.
James Croley, a 15-year veteran
of Moorhouse, has been named vice president of the Houston
office, which has recently become the headquarters for Moorhouse.
Gary Willard, an 18-year veteran
of Moorhouse, has been promoted to vice president of the Corpus
Christi office.

Fugro Consultants LP, a geotechnical
and construction materials engineering and testing firm, announced
the following eleven key people have attained the Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design professional accreditation:
Donald Anderson, Nick Aschliman, Umesh
Bachu, Blake Cotton, Duane Harrell, David Mason, Tom Posey,
Chuck Rushing, John Styron, Richard Weathers and Tom
Wesling. These experts in sustainable design represent
Fugro's twelve offices in Texas, Louisiana, and Arizona.
