Centex Names New Dallas Exectutive Leaders
Centex Construction promoted Moffatt
and Oliver to executive leadership roles for its southwest
division in Dallas.
Todd T. Moffatt
was recently promoted to vice president and controller for
the southwest division of Centex Construction. Moffatt joined
Centex in 1998 as controller of the company's southwest division.
As vice president and controller at the corporate level,
Moffatt is responsible for leadership and oversight of the
company's financial services team. In this role, he ensures
accuracy, quality and customer service in the company's execution
of financial processing, controls, reporting and records management.
Moffatt holds a bachelor's of business administration in
accounting from the University of Wisconsin.

Connie S. Oliver was recently
promoted to vice president of corporate communications of
Centex Construction's southwest division.
Oliver joined Centex in 1996 as director of marketing and
communications for the company's southwest division. With
her recent promotion to vice president of corporate communications,
she now serves at a corporate level, overseeing communication
strategies for internal and external audiences, and managing
the company's corporate branding initiatives
Oliver holds a bachelor's of science in finance and business
administration from the University of Maryland and is a member
of the International Association of Business Communicators.

William Verkest, P.E., recently
joined HDR in the company's Fort Worth location as a municipal
program manager.
Verkest's responsibilities include developing and coordinating
business and marketing strategies to enhance the growth and
stability of municipal programs. He will assist in evaluating,
promoting and expanding local government services as well
as managing and providing QA/QC on selected municipal projects.
Prior to joining HDR, he was executive director of public
works for the city of McKinney. Verkest has extensive executive
level experience at the municipal government level as well
as in the private sector.
Verkest is a member of the American Public Works Association,
American Water Works Association, Society of American Military
Enginee, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
He graduated with a bachelor's of civil engineering >>
from Marquette University and holds a master's of public administration
from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Christopher Reid, P.E., has
joined Carter & Burgess as a senior project manager in
the firm's Austin Land Development Unit. In this role, he
will use his 13 years of experience in project leadership
and design to manage projects while pursuing opportunities
in Austin. His responsibilities will include planning, site
design, zoning review and permitting processes, environmental
and regulatory restrictions and other issues that impact development
projects.
A former city engineer, Reid has extensive experience working
with city and state governments and their respective agencies
and has extensive knowledge of government contracts and business
development. His prior responsibilities have ranged from design,
cost estimations and project supervision to marketing, proposal
drafting and client relations.
Reid is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers
and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He holds a bachelor's
of science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.

Jane Baughman,
NCARB, LEED, a project coordinator at FKP Architects, has
completed the Architectural Registration Examination and is
now a registered architect in the state of Texas.
Baughman has more than ten years of varied experience in
all phases of architectural design, construction and administration.
Recent projects include work on the Biotechnology, Sciences
and Engineering Building at the University of Texas at San
Antonio, the expansion of the Katy Independent School District's
administrative building and numerous projects for the New
Caney Independent School District.
Baughman holds a bachelor's of architecture degree from the
University of Houston. She is NCARB certified and a LEED Accredited
Professional.

Stan McCarthy, a 19-year employee
of Acme has been named vice president of sales with responsibilities
for the Texas-New Mexico region of Acme Brick Co.
A native of Pittsburgh, Penn., McCarthy received a degree
in marketing and a master's of business administration from
Texas State University (now West Texas A&M University
in Canyon).
McCarthy joined Acme in 1985 as a management trainee in Dallas.
In 1986 he became a residential sales representative handling
key accounts before assuming the additional position of Dallas
residential sales manager in 1988.
He was promoted to West Texas regional sales manager in 1999.
In 2001 he assumed the regional sales manager duties of Acme's
largest region, the Northeast Texas region. In 2004 he was
promoted to general sales manager for all of Texas and New
Mexico.
As vice president of sales, McCarthy will take on the added
responsibility for participation in the development and execution
of Acme's long-term strategic plan while continuing to maintain
the highest standards for service and responsiveness to Acme's
customers.
