Senior Executive Changes at CB&I
CB&I appointed Richard E.
Goodrich as acting CFO after Richard Byers announced his resignation.
The announcement came shortly after the company fired its
CEO and COO in mid-February.
CB&I, The Woodlands-based
engineering, procurement and construction company, recently
announced Richard A. Byers has resigned as vice president
and acting CFO effective mid-February. Richard
E. Goodrich has been named acting CFO. Last year, Goodrich
announced his retirement, which was to have taken effect in
February. In light of Byers' resignation, Philip
K. Asherman, CB&I's president and CEO, asked Goodrich
to defer retirement. Byers' resignation came shortly after
the announcement that the firm had terminated Gerald
M. Glenn as chairman, president and CEO, and Robert
B. Jordan as executive vice president and COO. The
firm's Supervisory Board elected Philip
K. Asherman as president and CEO and Jerry
H. Ballengee as non-executive chairman. Asherman joined
CB&I in 2001 and has served as executive vice president
and chief marketing officer. He has more than 26 years of
experience in the engineering and construction industry in
a variety of project, operations management and sales and
marketing roles. Asherman has an undergraduate degree from
the University of South Florida and a master's degree from
Tufts University.
Ballengee has been a member of CB&I's Supervisory Board
since 1997 and serves as the chairman of the nominating committee
and a member of the corporate governance committee and audit
committee. He has a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering
from Virginia Tech and a master's in business administration
from Xavier University.
Centex Construction recently
announced the addition of Ed Littleton
as vice president of risk management in the company's corporate
headquarters in Dallas. Joining Centex from Wachovia Insurance
Services in Atlanta, Littleton will be responsible for the
overall design, management and execution of risk management
programs, including project-specific coverage and company-wide
risk mitigation strategies. He holds a bachelor of science
degree in business administration and accounting from the
University of South Carolina and was licensed as a CPA in
South Carolina.
Cadence McShane Corp. recently
announced that Glenn A. Denham
has been promoted from director of business development to
vice president - business development at the firm's headquarters
in Dallas. A 23-year veteran of the construction industry,
Denham provides the firm's clients with a full complement
of design and pre-construction services including feasibility
studies, site selection, due diligence, conceptual estimates,
value engineering analyses and strategic scheduling approaches.
In his new role, Denham will pursue new general construction,
build-to-suit and design/build opportunities on behalf of
the firm. Denham holds a bachelor of science in construction
from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The firm also
announced the promotion of M. Shawn
Pyatt from controller to vice president - finance at
the firm's headquarters in Dallas.
In his new role, Pyatt is responsible for the financial management
and construction accounting functions of the firm, as well
as directing the firm's relationships with outside financial
entities. Pyatt manages Cadence McShane's surety and insurance
programs and provides critical guidance and direction in these
areas. Pyatt has more than 15 years of experience managing
financial and accounting functions within the commercial construction
industry. Pyatt holds a bachelor of science in accounting
from McNeese State University.
M.J. Boyle General Contractor Inc.
recently announced the addition of Joseph W. Mokry as a project
manager. Mokry joins the organization with a diverse background
in
construction management. As project manager, his responsibilities
will include preconstruction planning, project coordination,
proposal requests and project quality control.
Mokry graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor
of science in construction science and previously worked for
Joeris General Contactors and Peco Construction Co.
Teal Construction Co. recently
announced the addition of Roy DiPasquale
as executive vice president. DiPasquale is a seasoned construction
industry professional with 35 years of business experience.
He was the CEO of Law Engineering's environmental remediation
company, IAM/Environmental. Recently, he directed the $135
million acquisition of Waste Management Co.'s abatement subsidiary,
NSC. His extensive construction industry experience began
in the Army Corp of Engineers.
Gilbane Southwest Region recently
announced the promotion of James Springer
to vice president. Springer began his career with Gilbane
in 1980 working during the summers while obtaining his bachelor
of science in mechanical engineering from Marquette University
in Milwaukee, Wis.
Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc.
recently announced the following new additions: Ameet
Gadve, Engineer III; Gautam
Arora, Engineer I; Shannon Martin,
Engineer I; Chris Orem, Engineer
I; and Roberto Elizondo, Engineer
I. The firm also announced the following promotions; Al
Chua, vice president, land development; Shauna
Weaver, vice president, land development; and Cara
Tackett, vice president, land development. Gadve received
his bachelor of science in civil engineering from Pune University
in India in 1999. He went on to earn his master of science
in civil engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont in
2003. Before joining a Pape-Dawson land development team,
Gadve worked for Bexar County Infrastructure Services. Arora
received his bachelor of engineering in civil engineering
from Narayan Vyas University in Jodphur, India in 2003. He
went on to earn his master of science in civil engineering
from Texas Tech University in 2005. Before joining Pape-Dawson,
Arora worked on the air pollution problem in India at the
International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives.
Martin received her bachelor of science in civil engineering
from Texas A&M University in December 2005. She worked
for Pape-Dawson as an engineer-intern prior to graduation
and is now working for Pape-Dawson full time on a land development
team. Orem received his bachelor of science in civil engineering
from Texas A&M University in December 2005. He worked
for Young Contractors in Bryan before joining Pape-Dawson.
Elizondo received his bachelor of science in civil engineering
from The University of Texas at Austin in December 2005. Elizondo
previously worked in construction as an apprentice for GIC
of Monterrey and has now joined a Pape-Dawson land development
team.
Chua has worked at Pape-Dawson for more than 23 years and
holds bachelor of science degrees in civil engineering and
sanitary engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines,
where he is a licensed civil engineer. Chua leads a team of
engineers and technicians designing numerous residential land
development projects throughout San Antonio.
Weaver has worked at Pape-Dawson for more than eleven years
and holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering
from Purdue University. Weaver leads a team of engineers and
technicians designing major projects for the public and private
sector.
Tackett has worked at Pape-Dawson since 1999 and prior to
that she worked for the city of San Antonio Public Works Department.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology with a minor
in chemistry from the University of Texas and a master of
science degree in civil engineering from Colorado State University.
