Kip Daniel Named Fellow by the American
Institute of Architects
Daniel, a principal at The Beck
Group, received one of the highest honors the AIA can bestow
upon a member.
Kip Daniel, AIA, a principal
at The Beck Group, will be inducted
into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects
on June 9. Nominees are guided through the laborious application
process by a mentor who is a current AIA fellow. Velpeau Hawes,
FAIA, of the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, served as
Daniel's sponsor.
Daniel founded Urban Architecture in Dallas in 1981, focusing
his practice on design as a premium value. His firm was a
leader among Dallas architectural firms in the use and development
of technology tools. Desiring to improve century-old models
of service delivery, Kip merged his firm into The Beck Group,
a national design and construction firm with solid credentials
in developing cutting-edge design/build software.
Dilip Choudhuri, P.E., has
been named to the national board of directors of the International
Concrete Repair Institute. He will serve a three-year term.
Choudhuri is a principal in the Structural Diagnostics Services
Group of Walter P Moore. He
has more than 15 years of experience in engineering consulting,
specializing in seismic damage assessment, construction defects
and structural failure analysis of steel, masonry, timber,
concrete and pre-stressed concrete system.
Jonni Johnson, director of
business development for the health-care sector of RTKL,
has been appointed to the board of the American College of
Healthcare Executives, North Texas Chapter and to the Healthcare
Advisory Council of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce.
Johnson serves as chairwoman of the Design and Construction
Taskforce for the Health Industry Council, and board member
of the Uptown Improvements District. Johnson is a member of
the Dallas 40 and the Society of Marketing Professional Services
Laurin McCracken, AIA, MCR,
has joined Carter & Burgess
as chief marketing officer. McCracken, a registered architect,
planner and senior marketing professional, comes to Carter
& Burgess with 25 years experience in directing strategy
and marketing professional services. McCracken served as the
1987-1988 SMPS National President and was the 1997 recipient
of the prestigious SMPS Marketing Achievement Award.
Robert R. Austin, P.E., has
joined STV Inc. as Houston market
leader with the firm's national Buildings and Facilities Division.
Austin manages STV's Houston operations for buildings, facilities,
and energy projects.
Austin brings to STV more than 35 years of international
experience in executive management, project management, business
development, engineering design, procurement, construction
inspection, commissioning, start-up, and operations for projects
in the onshore and offshore pipeline, oil, gas, and energy
industries. Austin earned a bachelor's of science in civil
engineering from the University of Mississippi.
Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc.
recently announced the promotions of Becky
Culpepper, P.E. project manager, Jason
Diamond, P.E., project manager and Angela
Johnson, project manager.
Culpepper received her bachelor's of science in architectural
engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1999
and her master's of science in civil engineering from The
University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003. Diamond received
his bachelor's of science in civil engineering from Texas
A&M University in 2000, and he has worked for Pape-Dawson
since graduation. Johnson received her bachelor's of science
in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1998.
She joined Pape-Dawson with three years of engineering experience.
Civil Engineering Consultants recently
announced the addition of Julio Ramos,
Jr., E.I.T. Ramos received his bachelor's of science
degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas at
San Antonio. Prior to joining CEC's Transportation Division,
he worked as an engineering intern for the North Texas Tollway
Authority.
The firm also announced addition of Richard
Myrick, P.E. as Public Works Division Manager. Myrick
has more than 27 years of experience in the management and
design of public infrastructure. Myrick holds a bachelor's
of science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.
HOLT CAT recently named Noe
Cisneros safety and environmental manager. Cisneros
will oversee all internal HOLT CAT safety and environmental
compliance functions, focusing on the continuous improvement
of the company's safety and OHSA standards.
Judah Auld was recently hired
as estimator for McCarthy Building
Cos. Inc.'s Texas Division. In this role, Auld will
be responsible for various estimating and bidding activities
associated with the company's healthcare, hospitality, condominium,
office building, LEED and commercial construction projects.
Auld previously served as estimator for Austin Commercial.
Auld graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's
of science in construction science management.
David Kaiser has joined the
SpawGlass Houston Region as
a senior estimator. Kaiser brings with him more than 30 years
of estimating experience, including previous work for SpawGlass.
Kaiser received his a degree in finance from University of
Houston in 1993.
