Promotions and Additions for Booming Texas Firms
Jordan Construction grows its San Antonio office, while TDIndustries announces promotions in Houston and Dallas.
TDIndustries has announced several executive management promotions. Rodney C. Johannsen has been promoted to president of the company's North Texas region. Graham Moore has been promoted to president of its Houston operations. Bill Parten has been promoted to executive vice president of facilities management services. In addition, the firm has promoted Bruce Arapis to vice president of major projects, Tim Edwards to vice president of special projects and David Perdue to vice president of health care, industrial and technology.
Terracon Consultants Inc. announced the election of Chester J. Drash, P.E., to its board of directors. Drash, a senior principal with Terracon, also serves as a senior vice president and division manager. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Houston and is a registered professional engineer in Texas. Terracon also promoted C. Harold Cobb, P.E., to division manager overseeing the firm's offices in Houston, League City, Lufkin, Conroe and Brazos Valley. In its Houston office, Terracon promoted Jeffrey C. Roberts, P.E., to office manager. Terracon also appointed R.W. "Bob" Underwood to principal.
Corgan Associates Inc. has announced the naming of five associates. They are: Bob Emery, Jim LeBlanc, Julia Boone, Lori McGilberry and Tamara Testa. Emery has been with Corgan since 1999 and graduated from Drury College with a bachelor's of fine arts in architecture. LeBlanc, with Corgan since 2001, earned a bachelor's of architecture from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Julia Boone, with Corgan for more than 14 years, graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a bachelor's of architecture. Lori McGilberry, who has been with Corgan's design team for eight years, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she earned a bachelor's degree in human environmental science. Tamara Testa graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston with a bachelor's of architecture.
FKP Architects Inc. announced that Bruce Houck has joined the firm as chief information officer.
LJA Engineering & Surveying Inc. has promoted Marcia Yim to geographic information systems manager. She is a graduate of The University of Texas with a bachelor's of arts degree. The firm also promoted Brandon Copeland to lead geographic information systems developer. He has a bachelor's of science degree from Texas A&M University, as well as numerous ESRI certifications.
SpawGlass has been named the fifth “Best Company to Work for in Texas” (large-sized companies, 250+ employees category). The third annual program was created by the Texas Association of Business and the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group.
Among the items that earned SpawGlass the recognition include 100% employee ownership and an in-house SpawGlass University training program.
C.F. Jordan Construction has added two estimators and two project engineers to its San Antonio staff. Tom Lyons joined Jordan as chief estimator, Greg Vaughn as a senior estimator. Also, Kyle Pennington and Jacob Stewart were added as project engineers.
Walter P. Moore recently announced the promotion of employees in the firm's Texas offices. Marco Bernal, Lourdes Cardenas, Joseph Dowd, Kara Hartleib, Shana Heffler, Todd Judy, Bart Miller, Keith Mitchell, Fari Nouri, Jamison Smith, Charlotte Temple, Matt Wagner and Ceri Warnie were named senior associates. Associates named were: Joe Gannon, Sridhar Baldava, Justin Farr, Julio Hernandez, Jeff Jansing, Adam Johnson, Chris Kammerer, Won Lee, Jabbar Mohammed, Diego Monroy, Boon Newsome, Jennifer Ridd, Gaylon Schilling, Tom Schilling, Ryan Seckinger, Mara Soloway, Rowdy Westbrook, Tianyi Yi and Gareth Young.
Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. vice president, Rafael Ortega, P.E., was named 2008 Most Valuable Professional in the private sector by Gulf Coast Trenchless Association. Ortega joined LAN in 1981 and has experience in a wide variety of civil engineering fields.
