Concrete Agitator
Maxon Industries recently released a new SCC (Self-Consolidating Concrete)
agitator shaft to be installed into their current Agitor ready-mix trucks.
Their standard Maxon agitators include bi-rotational, horizontal agitation
shafts with seven knife blades that assist in keeping the concrete from
segregating while in transit. The new SCC Agitator developed by Maxon
has 10 paddles with additional surface area on each paddle providing more
agitation of the load.
In testing, the Maxon Agitor equipped with the new SCC Agitator used
in conjunction with the proper mix design resulted in consistent flow
rates of 25 in. to 27 in. with approximately 5 percent air. The new SCC
Agitator actually allows the Agitors to continually mix the SCC in the
body, "folding" the materials, creating a more homogenous mix
with higher air percentages. For more information, contact Pat Conerty,

Sweeper Attachment
Midland Machinery Inc. recently announced a new line of heavy-duty sweeper
attachments. Dubbed Multi-Sweep, these four new models range in size from
46 in. to 98 in. sweeping width and offer capacities to 1 cu. yd.
Multi-Sweep is ideal for quick cleanup of a wide range of applications
from construction and industrial sites to road debris, parking areas and
lumber yards. They are designed to attach quickly and easily to a wide
range of prime movers with forks, including lift trucks, skid steer loaders,
wheel loaders, backhoe loaders, tool carriers and telescoping material
handlers. The uniqueness of the fork attachment gives the machine a speed
advantage for set up, especially with the engine-powered models. Large
diameter, heavy-duty castor wheels guide the unit over the roughest ground,
keeping the weight of the unit off the brush contact at the surface. For
more information, contact George Smith at 908-850-8710.
Surveillance System
Hoss Equipment Company (Hoss), an independent global distributor of
new, custom rebuilt and used heavy construction and mining equipment,
and Remote Monitoring Technologies, a supplier of advanced long-range
wireless surveillance systems, recently announced the availability of
their jointly developed SiteWatch Camera Tower Surveillance System.
The SiteWatch Camera Tower System delivers Network Video over a WiFi
802.11b wireless protocol with capabilities that not only allow control
of the system at a user's location from an office PC, laptop computer
or handheld PDA, it also provides the ability to transmit that image and
control over the Internet to any off-site, password-secured computer.
