SiteVision

SiteVision global positioning system is designed to enhance the performance of excavators with tilt-bucket attachments.

Dual GPS antennae compute the position of the machine blade or bucket, and an on-board computer determines the position of each tip of the blade or bucket and compares this to a design elevation. Then, the cut or fill to grade is computed. The information is displayed on the in-cab screen, and the cut/fill data is used to drive the valves for automatic blade control or passed to the SiteVision lightbars, which guide the operator up or down for grade and right or left of a defined alignment.

The GPS receiver measures the three-dimensional position of both bucket tips of a tiltbucket. The feature allows the contractor to use a tilt-bucket attachment on an excavator when working on jobs involving digging to a sloped plane perpendicular to the boom's axis, such as trenches with sloped walls. The system's AS300 solid-state angle sensors are designed for easy installation on excavators. They are mounted on the boom, stick and tilt bucket linkage; the output is used to calculate the relative position of the tilt bucket teeth.

This is combined with the GPS positioning to calculate an accurate 3D position and orientation.

SJIII Compact Series

SJIII Compact Series aerial work platforms include models 3215 and 3219. They reach heights of 25 ft. with capacities of 600 lbs. The platforms have 23 percent gradeability and a 26-in.-wide, 64-in.-long platform.

The units feature variable speed, front wheel hydraulic drive, and the ability to drive at full height on a firm surface. The platforms have a proportional drive-lift joystick control system and positive traction.

Other features include access to the VDC charger and low-voltage battery protection, 110-volt protected outlet on platform, solid rubber tires and scissor design. For more information, contact Skyjack at (800) 265-2738 or visit www.skyjackinc.com.

AL4000 Automatic Light Tower

The AL4000 Automatic Light Tower can be set to one of three modes. The timer mode turns the power on or off at a preset time. The photocell mode signals the tower to turn on or off based on the amount of natural light surrounding it. The first-source mode triggers the machine to turn on either at a set time or when the lighting surrounding it is at a certain level, whichever comes first.

The unit has a reach of 30 ft. at full extension and is controlled by an ergonomically positioned winch for ease of raising and lowering. The tower rotates 360 degrees and has a spring-loaded pin to lock the tower in place automatically while in the upright position. When in travel position, the light fixtures are secured mounted on the mast or can be left on the crossarm. The unit has four, 1,000-watt metal halide lamps that can illuminate up to 7.5 acres.
